The aim of the study was to compare the courseof flowering and the occurrence of Alnus,Corylus and Betula pollen grains inthe air in 1999–2001. In 2000 and 2001 birchesflowered in a typical way – the floweringperiod was short and intense and that periodhad the highest concentration of pollen. Bothyears had no rainfall then and the temperaturewas high, which caused intense flowering ofbirches over a large area. In 1999 and 2000most of the Alnus and Coryluspollen was recorded at the end or after theirflowering period. At that time the weather wasunstable (as is usual in February and March).Pollen must have been transported fromelsewhere. Wind analysis showed that the mainsources of Corylus pollen must have beenin the south, and of Alnus in the southand west. In the southern margin of Poland thevegetative period begins later due to a colderclimate.  相似文献

In order to cope with damage, plants have evolved a number of strategies. We incorporate two of those strategies, compensatory regrowth and escaping damage in time, into a mathematical model in an attempt to outline under what circumstances one or the other of these phenotypic traits will evolve. Escaping damage in time is accomplished by flowering and setting seeds at a point of time when the risk of damage is low, whereas a compensatory capacity is made possible by activating a proportion of meristems that are left dormant. Our analysis suggests that damage that is predictable in time will favour phenotypes that flower late in the season and that have a good compensatory capacity. As damage becomes less predictable in time, a strategy that implies flowering as early as possible in the season and with no compensatory capacity at all, becomes advantageous.  相似文献

Celery (Apium graveolens L.) plants cv. Jason overwintered in a polythene tunnel flowered earlier and grew taller than similar plants given a 10-week cold-treatment at 5°C prior to transplanting in the same tunnel in mid-February. However, there was no significant difference in the yield of seeds obtained from both treatments, plants grown at a density of 4m-2 yielded less seeds than those at 2m-2, though the yield per unit area was slightly higher from the high density treatment. Treatment with 100 mgl-1 GA3 applied twice just prior to flowering and during anthesis increased flower stalk, flower pedicel and stamen length but delayed flower opening and seed ripening and decreased seed set and seed yield. Treatment with a mixture of 1000 mgl-1 GA4 and GA7 plus 1000 mgl-1 ethephon on three occasions during seed ripening decreased seed yield and reduced seed germination though those seeds capable of germinating were less dormant than seeds from untreated plants. The size distribution of seeds was unaffected by any treatment other than the preseeding spray with GA3 which reduced the percentage of medium-size seeds.  相似文献

Summary Effects of variation in fire season on flowering of forbs and shrubs were studied experimentally in two longleaf pine forest habitats in northern Florida, USA. Large, replicated plots were burned at different times of the year, and flowering on each plot was measured over the twelve months following fire. While fire season had little effect on the number of species flowering during the year following fire, fires during the growing season decreased average flowering duration per species and increased synchronization of peak flowering times within species relative to fires between growing seasons. Fires during the growing season also increased the dominance of fall flowering forbs and delayed peak fall flowering. Differences in flowering resulting from variation in fire season were related to seasonal changes in the morphology of clonal forbs, especially fall-flowering composites. Community level differences in flowering phenologies indicated that timing of fire relative to environmental cues that induced flowering was important in determining flowering synchrony among species within the ground cover of longleaf pine forests. Differences in fire season produced qualitatively similar effects on flowering phenologies in both habitats, indicating plant responses to variation in the timing of fires were not habitat specific.  相似文献

To assess the role of the hypothalamo-hypophysial complex in the control of photoperiodically induced vernal premigratory responses in the White-crowned Sparrow, the effects of hypothalamic lesions and systemic administration of several hormones on these responses were investigated. Lesions that destroyed the posterior median eminence (PME) or the entire median eminence (ME) inhibited photoperiodically induced testicular growth, premigratory fattening and Zugunruhe. Lesions in the basal infundibular nucleus (IN) that resulted in complete inhibition of testicular growth abolished Zugunruhe, but allowed varying degrees of fattening. The systemic administration of prolactin, testosterone propionate (TP) or the combination thereof in the PME-lesioned birds induced fattening similar to that observed in photostimulated controls but did not induce Zugunruhe. It is concluded that testosterone and prolactin are the most important hormones involved in the control of vernal premigratory fattening. The role of these hormones in the induction of vernal Zugunruhe is not positively proven.  相似文献

In Andalusia (southern Spain), Pinus species are found in mountainous areas and nature reserves, though some species are also grown as ornamentals in cities. Annual airborne pollen trends are regarded as an indicator of variations in climate prompted by overall climate change. Airborne pollen concentration also provides a useful tool for analyzing alterations in the distribution of vegetation in response to environmental factors and to changes in land use. The present study analyzed the Pinus pollen season over 22 years (1993–2014) in 4 Andalusian cities (Córdoba, Granada, Jaén, and Málaga), and examined correlations between airborne pollen concentrations and meteorological parameters (temperature and rainfall). Pinus pollen season lasted from March to June, starting first in Málaga and later in eastern Andalusia. Differences between the pollen curves for each city were attributable to differing proportions of pine species in each province. Temperatures during the months prior to flowering tended to fall, prompting delayed onset of the pollen season in most cities. No significant results were observed for rainfall patterns in most cities. Total pollen concentrations increased at most sites, suggesting that the recorded decline in pine-nut output was not influenced by flowering rates, but to the impact of a local pest.  相似文献

该文对绵枣儿的开花物候与传粉特性进行了研究,分析了绵枣儿的开花进程、开花物候指数、开花物候指数对其生殖成功的影响,重点探讨了绵枣儿对传粉昆虫的种类及其活动规律。结果表明:(1)绵枣儿始花日期为7月中下旬,单株持续时间15 d左右,种群持续时间30~35 d。呈现出"M"型开花物候曲线,其两年的开花同步指数分别为0.862、0.885,表明开花的年际间差异较小。并且分析出植株的相对开花强度分布在30%~60%之间。(2)相关分析表明:绵枣儿的开花数目与坐果数和持续时间呈现出极显著正相关(P0.01),绵枣儿的持续时间与坐果数之间呈现出显著相关(P0.05),而其始花日期与开花数目、坐果数和持续时间并没有显现出相关性,即绵枣儿植株开花的数目越多,其坐果率越高,持续时间也就越长。(3)绵枣儿的访花昆虫总共有14种,可分属为5目10科。其中传粉昆虫有5科10种。该研究结果表明各传粉昆虫在单花停留的时间和其访花频率上呈现出显著的差异,在日访花频率上也差异明显。  相似文献

以耐旱性大豆品种晋豆21和干旱敏感性大豆品种徐豆22为试验材料,通过盆栽试验,研究α-萘乙酸(NAA)对花期干旱大豆碳代谢的影响.结果表明: 干旱胁迫下,与徐豆22相比,晋豆21净光合速率(Pn)下降幅度较小,光呼吸速率(Pr)和叶片可溶性糖含量增加幅度较小,而叶片蔗糖磷酸合成酶(SPS)、蔗糖合成酶(SS)(合成方向)活性、根系蔗糖含量增加幅度较大.NAA处理提高了干旱胁迫下Pn,并降低了Pr,进而明显缓解了干旱胁迫对大豆植株的生长抑制;降低了叶片淀粉分解酶、酸性转化酶(AI)和SS(分解方向)活性,从而抑制了干旱胁迫诱导的可溶性糖积累;NAA处理也能增加干旱胁迫下叶片SPS、SS(合成方向)活性、根系蔗糖含量、根冠比,表明NAA处理促进了叶片中蔗糖向根系的转运.总之,在干旱胁迫下,外源NAA能够通过调控碳代谢增强大豆植株对干旱胁迫的耐受性.  相似文献
